Govt gave shape to democratic republic: Oli

Dhangadi, February 20

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said the federal government had succeeded in giving shape to the democratic republic in the country.

Addressing the Far-west Province Assembly in Dhangadi, Oli claimed that his government had accomplished many things despite obstacles and difficulties. “The first year has been a year of making laws and regulations. When we were voted to power, the first challenge before us was to put in place the mechanism required for running the government, which we have successfully done in the last one year,” Oli stated.

Oli claimed that no force could oust his government. “This is a government of people’s votes and verdict. Thus, no one will be able to topple it,” Oli said. He argued that the government had been able to maintain peace and stability in the nation. “Conflict has been resolved. Only some wounds of the conflict are left to be healed,” Oli held.

Oli stated that there was no reason why the Far-west should suffer from starvation and food crisis. He asked the provincial government to encourage farmers to start commercial farming in a planned manner. Noting that the central government had accorded top priority to development of the Far-west, Oli said that his government was putting in efforts for  construction of Pancheswor Hydro Project.

Oli pledged to book the guilty behind the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta at any cost. “Since the government is carrying out an investigation, the guilty behind the rape and murder will be booked at any cost,” Oli reiterated.  He argued that various probe teams formed by the government to investigate the incident had experienced difficulty as the guilty had destroyed all evidences.
