Government has institutionalised corruption: KC

Pokhara, March 15

Nepali Congress central member Arjun Narsingh KC today said corruption was all-pervasive from the central to the local levels.

Speaking at a press meet organised in Pokhara, KC held that corruption had been institutionalised in the past 13 months since KP Sharma Oli-led government was formed. As per the principle of federalism, local levels should enjoy a certain degree of autonomy, but instead Singha Durbar has institutionalised corruption at all levels, he said.

KC said a huge financial irregularity had taken place in the procurement of wide-body aircraft by Nepal Airlines Corporation. “A fair probe has to be carried out in the case,” he added. KC said action must be taken against those involved in corruption.“NC never compromises when it comes to taking action against the corrupt,” he said and added that the parliamentary committee was powerful in the Parliament and the government should not form any probe committee while investigating into the case.

NC leader KC said his party was weakening due to shortcomings of the top leadership. He said the NC leaders should follow the party statute.
