‘Government positive on alternative health care’

Siraha, October 30

Minister of Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel said the government was ready to grant permission to run natural therapy, ayurved and yoga classes, provided local governments managed the required infrastructure and equipment on their own.

Speaking at a programme organised to inaugurate the newly built building for nature therapy hospital in Dhangadimai Municipality, the minister said the government was ready to grant permission if the local governments could manage required infrastructure including laboratory and manpower.

“We can’t afford to set up technical and vocational training centres in all 753 local levels, so I hereby urge all to understand the situation of the government and make do with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training at the centre. If required, the government is ready to grant permission to run classes of nature therapy, ayurved and yoga instead,” Minister Pokharel said.

The minister also highlighted the need to focus on technical education.

On the occasion, Dhangadi Municipality Mayor Hari Narayan Chaudhary said discussions were underway with stakeholders to run the nature therapy hospital as the building for the same had already been constructed with the financial assistance of the Indian Embassy.
