Government serious about holding polls, says Mahara
Charikot, February 14:
Minister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara today said the government is serious about holding CA polls.
He said this at a press meet organised by the Dolakha chapter of Revolutionary Journalists’ Association in Charikot.
Mahara said, “The government is committed to meeting demands of Madhesis and has been holding informal talks with the agitating forces,” he said.
“As the demands raised in Madhes are genuine, most of those will be met after the polls,” he said. He, however, ruled out amendment to the interim constitution before the polls. He stressed the need to keep the unity of seven parties intact to the hold the polls on time. “If the polls were not held on April 10, the Maoists would launch an agitation.”
