Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has yet again said that the government will not give in to any sort of pressure in conducting fair and just investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugees scam.
Speaking at the State Order and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representative meeting today, he reiterated that the government would not bow to pressure and that Nepal Police had been instructed to work impartially and fearlessly. He also said there was no need to question the integrity of the police investigating the case and said they were working impartially. He said that it was the government's job to arrest any accused or suspicious people based on investigation and bring them under the legal framework. He said that other cases of corruption would also be investigated.

He said that the government and the Ministry of Home Affairs were not looking for popularity by investigating the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, but were serious about putting an end to misrule.
He further said, "The investigation into the Bhutanese refugees scam had not reached any conclusion for now. Police are currently working 24 hours a day. And we have directed the police not to give in to any political pressure."
A total of 13 people including former deputy prime minister and energy minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former home minister Bal Krishna Khand are currently in police custody.
