Govt committed to curb drug abuse-related crimes: Home Minister Thapa
KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa today informed that the Narcotic Drug Control Action Plan-2075 BS has been recently issued to curb drug abuse-related crimes.
The action plan would be instrumental in materialising the government agenda of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis', he said at a programme organised here by the Home Ministry on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2018, which is being celebrated across the country today with various programmes.
Stating that the country required healthy and creative youth to reach prosperity, he said the ministry was committed to saving the youth from drug abuses. Towards that end, the ministry was working hard, he added.
"The youth, who are the pillar of the nation, are now becoming victims of drug abuse and the government has taken this as a serious issue," said Home Minister Thapa.
He also urged all to help control production, smuggling and sales of illegal drugs to curb substance abuse-related crimes.
