Govt formation not on agenda: Prakash

KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist's secretariat member Narayan Kaji Shrestha 'Prakash' said today that the party's immediate agenda was not the formation of the new government.

Speaking at an interaction, Shrestha said the government formation would mean nothing unless President. Dr Ram Baran Yadav's decision was corrected and civilian supremacy established in the country. "We left the government to fight against the supremacy of army and establish civilian supremacy. At this moment, forming the government is not our agenda," he clarified. He also claimed that some foreign forces provoked the President to stay the government's decision to oust the army chief.

"First, the interim constitution should be made active. For that to happen, the President should withdraw his decision. Only then things will move ahead smoothly," he insisted. Shrestha also said some forces were conspiring against the Maoists and trying to push them towards another revolt.
