KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 7

CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has asserted that adherence to the Constitution and its principles constitutes the very essence of democracy.

Speaking at an interaction organized today by the UML Central Department of Education and Human Resources, the party chair and former prime minister described the formation of the government under the "theory of necessity" and the subsequent dissolution of Parliament following the Gen-Z movement as unconstitutional.

"Our party firmly maintains that it is unconstitutional for a former Chief Justice to assume any executive position other than that of the National Human Rights Commission," he stated.

Chairman Oli further remarked that a government cannot function arbitrarily or unconstitutionally by disregarding the people's legitimate mandate.

He underscored the urgent need to reinstate the House of Representatives (HoR) as a means to resolve the prevailing political crisis.
