Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala today clarified his party’s demand for the restoration of the House of Representatives saying that the government without parliament was the root cause of regression.

Addressing a meeting of the Nepal Teachers’ Association, he said there was no alternative to a joint people’s movement to restore democracy.

“Major political forces of the 1990 movement are drawing up a common political agenda, which will soon take a concrete shape, based on which the joint movement will take its height,” Koirala further said.
