Govt to freeze bank accounts, probe into wealth of transport entrepreneurs
KATHMANDU: A meeting led by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has decided to freeze the bank accounts of transport entrepreneurs and officials of various transport associations after they refused to operate vehicles and follow the government’s directive against syndicate system.
Home Minister Thapa, Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Raghubir Mahaseth and NRB Governer Chiranjibi Nepal among others held a meeting on Friday and took a decision to this effect, Officials at the ministry said.
Likewise, the government has also decided to probe into the wealth of transport associations and officials refusing to operate public vehicles demanding continual of syndicate system.
