Govt to help develop Chataradham, says minister
The first grand Pindeswor Kumbha Mahotsav (festival) of the kingdom of Nepal came to an end at Barahachhetra of Sunsari district, today.
At a concluding function organised at Barahachhetra today, minister for water resources Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar said the government will provide assistance as far as possible for the combined development of Barahachhetra and Chataradham.
He also appreciated 108 Balasanta Mohansharan Devacharya Maharaj for the successful completion of the Mahotsav under his initiative.
Chairman of the Sanatana Dharma Sewa Samiti Mukunda Sharan Upadhyay said the Kumbha Mahotsav organised at Sunsari is an important historic event in the kingdom of Nepal.
Santashiromani Khem Raj Keshav Sharan pointed out the need to declare the whole of Barahachhetra VDC as a religious site.
From the chair, Sri 108 Balasanta Mohansharan Devacharya thanked all cooperating in the successful completion of the Mahotsav and honoured dignitaries, Santas and Mahantas coming from various parts of Nepal and India by honouring them with shawls.
On the occasion, MP Kunta Sharma and Barahachhetra VDC chairman Dal Bahadur Poudel also expressed their views.
Secretary of the cultural sub-committee of the Mahotsav main organising committee Bhesh Raj Ghimire said the month-long Mahotsav which began on April 14 was visited by about one million devotees from Nepal and India.
Barahachhetra is a major pilgrim spot in the country and attracts hordes of pilgrims from India and Nepal throughout the year and especially during religious occasions.
