Lawmaker Dr Dial Sangraula Panta has sought a white paper on COVID-19.

Speaking at the special hour in a meeting of the House of Representatives today, Panta urged the government to issue a white paper regarding the efforts made by Nepal to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, achievements made in that connection and measures to tackle the upcoming challenge.

Panta called for expediting the vaccination campaign to save citizens from the coronavirus infection and informed the government that the amount of health insurance had not been provided to the citizens.

She said various hospitals had suspended the insurance programme through a notice, citing that the government had failed to provide them the amount in the context of 1.7 million people registering for insurance.

Bhim Bahadur Rawal slammed the government saying it had failed to heed to a ruling made by the Speaker regarding implementation of the government's decision about a month ago not to be a part of the State Partnership Program (SPP).

He, through the House, called the attention of the government to immediately send letter to the US government that Nepal would not be a part of the SPP. Rawal urged the government to pay attention to the protection of interests of the country and the people by taking initiatives for removing the unequal provisions in the treaty related to Gurkha recruitment.

Hit Bahadur Tamang drew attention to expedite the Tokha-Chhahare tunnel way and prepare a sound foundation for the country's economic prosperity by strengthening economic, social and cultural ties with China. He urged the government to expedite the construction of the Balaju-Ranipauwa-Pipaltar road stretch along the Pasang Lhamu Highway as it was in a state of neglect at present.

Ram Babu Yadav criticised the government for failing to address the farmers' problems, including the shortage of fertilisers.

Hridayesh Tripathi expressed concern over wobbly economy and urged the government to pay attention to boost the GDP, taking into account that production would likely decrease due to fertiliser crunch. Attahar Kamal Musalman suggested caution while making statements about the Citizenship Bill.

Dil Kumari, referring to the killing in Rautahat of a woman 27 days after her marriage allegedly over dowry, demanded that fair investigation be carried out to reveal the truth and facts related to the case. She stressed the need to take stern action against the culprits responsible for the murder of the woman. Ganga Chaudhary said the government was not paying attention to the issue of border security.
