‘Govt will work aggressively now’
Jajarkot, February 13
Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet said today that the government would aggressively start working on development projects as the Tarai agitation and blockade at various border points had come to an end.
“The government could not work as expected because it had to spend most of its time negotiating with agitating Madhes-based parties. But now that those problems have been resolved, it will start working aggressively on the development front,” said Minister Basnet while talking to mediapersons in Khalanga.
He said that the government was ready to expedite its works as the situation had now become normal. He said implementation of the new statute was the government’s top priority. He also urged the Nepali Congress to join the government to help implement the new statute.
“The problems seen in Tarai will be resolved through dialogue,” said Basnet. He said shortage of petroleum products, including cooking gas, would also be resolved within a few days. Basnet was in the district to lay the foundation stone for a 33/11 KV sub-station at Chhinchu-Rukum-Jajarkot.
