Govt’s clean chit to WFP

KATHMANDU: A government probe committee formed to look into the causes of

diarrhoeal outbreak in the districts of Mid and Far-Western Region gave a clean chit to the UN World Food Programme on Sunday. “The foodstuff distributed by the WFP was fit for consumption,” it said. The report prepared by the committee formed under the coordination of Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, Joint-Secretary, Ministry of Local Development, said, “The report of quality test, representatives of political parties, civil society activists, CDOs and victims’ kin unequivocally proved that the WFP food was edible.
