Grand ceremony planned to welcome Indian Prez in Janakpur
DHANUSHA: A grand ceremony is being planned in Janakpur of Nepal to welcome Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
The Indian President will be visiting Nepal from November 2 to 4.
The District Administration Office (DAO), Dhanusha organised an all-party meeting during which the minute choreography was planned to allow the public to come out of their residences to welcome the visiting Indian President by waving the national flags of the two countries.
The Janakpur Sub Metropolis will also organise a civic reception at the historic Janaki temple for President Mukherjee.
The all-party meeting was attended by Dhanusha's Chief District Officer (CDO), Dillip Kumar Chapagain, and representatives of the political parties, Extensive Janakpur Area Development Council, Janakpur Sub Metropolis and District Development Committee, Dhanusha.
During the three-day visit at the invitation of Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Indian President Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Janakpur, Lumbini and Pokhara.
The Indian President will attend a civic reception after offering prayers at the Janaki temple.
The civic reception will be followed by a programme to lay the foundation stone for the construction of postal highway after which the Indian President will return to Kathmandu.
