With the objective of making HIV/AIDS tests and couselling services accessible to people, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) released the National Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) guidelines today. Apart from retaining the privacy of those who seek the services, the guidelines aim to expand and increase VCT services in health instituitions. Dr Shyam Sundar Mishra, acting director of the National Centre for AIDS and STD Control, said that the government is planning to establish VCT centres in the districts in phases.
