Half-a-dozen arrested

Police have taken more than half a dozen people under control for their alleged involvement in thrashing a Nepali Army soldier to death in Siraha.

Police had arrested four persons, interrogated them and freed them on the condition that they would be present before the police office when called. Police have not revealed names of the arrestees saying it would impact the probe.

NA solider Anish Kumar Singh, 25, was taken under control, tied to a utility pole and thrashed mercilessly for three hours nine days ago at Tenuwapati of Bariyapatti Rural Municipality, Siraha.

Locals had thrashed him accusing him of stealing from Birekshyan Yadav’s house.  Critically injured in the incident, Singh died during treatment at Chhauni-based Nepali Army Hospital.
