New Delhi, October 9:

The Chennai Metropolitan Court today ordered the local administration to hand over CPN-Maoist politburo member CP Gajurel to the West Bengal Police on Wednesday for filing a case against him in the court.

The West Bengal police had been demanding that it be allowed to file a treason lawsuit against Gajurel in Jalpaiguri. On September 18 when he was released after serving a three year jail sentence in Chennai, a team of Jalpaigudhi police office had arrested him.

Gajurel’s lawyer A Rahul said that the court’s order came in the evening after the Madras High Court authorised the metropolitan court to look into the case.
