Headmaster thrashed

GORKHA: A gang of unidentified persons beat up and injured Bhim Dhamala, principal of Ganesh Secondary School, here in Arughat, while he was on his way to school from home, on Wednesday.

According to a school teacher Sudarshan Khadka, Dhamala was critically injured in the beating. He is now undergoing treatment in Arughat primary health centre. Search for the culprits is underway, the police said.

The gang had chanted slogans in favour of “Gorkha Tigers”, a hitherto unknown group, while fleeing after attacking the principal. Meanwhile, issuing a press statement, Nepal National Teachers’ Organisation here condemned the incident and demanded stringent action against the culprits.
