Kathmandu, February 18

Health institutions in mid and far-western regions of the country are in need of immediate supply of basic medicines and proper medical equipment in order to provide proper health service to the public.

A monitoring team that had visited the district hospitals, health posts and health organisations in the regions under the supervision of Dr Dirgha Singh Bam, director of SAARC TB Centre and National TB Centre, has revealed the poor situation of the health bodies.

The team also said that the employees of these institutions are lacking professional development and they are facing problems due to human resource scarcity.

During the visit, various organisations in the regions felicitated Dr Bam for his unrivalled contribution to the prevention of tuberculosis in the national and international arena.
