JHAPA, JANUARY 5

A health desk established at the eastern gate has come into operation in Kakadbhitta, Jhapa, from today.

Mechinagar Municipality Mayor Bimal Acharya inaugurated the health desk at a programme organised here today.

Acharya said the municipality had managed a team of health workers in the sensitive area as the coronavirus infection has been spreading rapidly.

Mayor Acharya drew the attention of Mechi Customs Office, Area Police Office, Armed Police Force and Border outpost, Kakadbhitta towards the same.

Deputy Mayor Mina Pokhrel Uprety said municipality dwellers had to play a key role in controlling the pandemic that breaks out at different times.

She said that not only COVID patients, but other people could also receive the health facility from the desk as some beds had also been managed in the health desk.

Uprety further informed that the municipality had managed the vaccine against COVID-19 for the desk and people could receive the vaccine.

Ward 6 Chair of Mechinagar Municipality Lalit Bahadur Tamang chaired the programme.

Chief Administrative Officer Khem Raj Ojha and Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal central committee member Dhan Prasad Gurung attended the programme.

Municipality press coordinator Laxmi Uprety said that Mechi Customs Office, Kakadbhitta Chief Customs Officer Keshab Raj Oli, Kakadbhitta Area Police Office Chief DSP Sunil Singh Dahal, APF Nepal BOP, Kakadbhitta Chief Prem Rai, representatives from political parties, representatives from different organisations, entrepreneurs, and mediapersons, among others, were present.
