Health workers' sit-in halts Kavre health services
KAVRE: A protest by health workers has halted all health services, except the emergency ones, in Kavre district for past four days.
Health workers had begun the sit-in protest demanding their postings as per the Article 9 'B' of the Health Services Act, 1997.
The National Health Workers' Association's District Chairman Purushottam Sapkota said that health workers across the nation had been launching the agitation for the past two months, demanding implementation of the Act.
All the health services would be closed if the demands of the health workers were not addressed immediately, Sapkota threatened.
According to Statistics Officer of the District Public Health Office Janardan Neupane, even administrative activities of the Office have been affected due to the agitation.
