KATHMANDU, JUNE 2

The Supreme Court has denied an interim order on a writ petition filed against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

A single bench of Justice Til Prasad Shrestha issued an order for a discussion with the disputants on June 10, which will determine whether to issue the interim order.

Justice Shrestha also demanded that the charge sheets filed against Lamichhane in various courts be brought before the bench.

In the order, Justice Shrestha emphasized the priority of hearing the case due to its nature.

The case pertains to fraud involving the misappropriation of cooperative funds. The Office of the Attorney General has also been asked to provide a written response on whether an order is necessary in the case.

Advocate Anupam Bhattarai had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, accusing Home Minister Lamichhane of being involved in the misappropriation of cooperative funds and demanding his removal from office.

Previously, Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana had ordered the registration of a writ petition against Home Minister Lamichhane on May 22.
