KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 16

The low-pressure monsoon trough is currently in its normal position, and the weather is also being influenced by water vapor from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The Division stated that the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country today. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in several areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in parts of the hilly and Tarai regions.

Similarly, heavy rainfall is possible in one or two locations of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, the Division added.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall is expected in Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with different parts of the hilly and Tarai regions. One or two places in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces may also experience heavy rainfall.

The Division further warned that the rainfall could trigger landslides, debris flows, and flooding in streams and rivers, urging communities to remain alert and adopt necessary precautions.
