SIMKOT, JANURARY 9

Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla, has been affected by heavy snowfall since Friday evening. Locals have found it impossible to leave their houses due to the heavy snowfall. Temperatures have plummeted to below - 12 degrees Celsius.

The snowfall has accumulated up to four feet of snow in Malimi, Muchul, and other districts of Namkha Municipality, according to Chapal Lama, a Tumkot resident. As a result, drinking water and river water have both frozen.

Simkot, which is usually bustling with people, is now empty owing to the bitter weather and snow.

The lives of residents in the Simkot area have been disrupted by the persistent snowfall, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Dasharath Rai.
