KATHMANDU: A man died when a truck hit him in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section of Chitwan district on Monday night.

Police have identified the deceased as Jivan Sunar (35) of Lainki Bindatani Municipality-8 of Dailekh district.

According to police, Sunar was walking along the road when the Indian registered truck (UP 22 T 8447) en route from Muglin to Narayangadh hit him at Syauli Bazaar at 9:45 pm yesterday, critically injuring him.

Injured Sunar was rushed to Bharatpur Medical College where he breathed his last at 1:15 am the same night during the course of treatment, informed police.

It has been learnt that Sunar had been working in the Narayangadh-Muglin road section construction.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the absconding driver, said Chitwan-based District Police Office.
