Holi being celebrated in Tarai districts today
KATHMANDU: The festival of colours, Holi, is being celebrated in the Tarai districts of the country today exchanging greetings of happiness and harmony.
Holi is celebrated with much enthusiasm in Tarai as a day that marks the victory of justice over injustice.
Revellers, young and old alike, celebrate the festival by smearing different colours and throwing colourful water at each other.
Holi is also considered a festival of reconciliation as those celebrating leave negative feelings like anger and animosity aside and rejoice with each other.
The festival, predominantly celebrated by Hindus, has also become popular among non-Hindus as a day to revel in colours and company of loved ones. Holi also marks the arrival of spring.
