Holidaymakers throng Mustang, give entrepreneurs festive cheer
MUSTANG: Domestic tourists visiting the trans-Himalayan district of Mustang during this festive season have shot up with hotel bookings and reservations reaching their full capacity.
Thousands of tourists visit Lomanthang also known as the city of clay, the famed pilgrimage site of Muktinath, Kagbeni and Damodar Kunda in the district. The visitors are also captivated by the unique landscape here.
The visitors entering the district via Beni-Jomson road on motorbikes are particularly high, according to hotel entrepreneurs. The arrival of domestic tourists after the Dashain festival has surged, Mustang's tourism entrepreneur, Khagendra Tulachan said.

Even before the start of the Badadashain festival, 50 per cent of the hotel accommodations were already reserved in advance. The entrepreneurs shared that the tourists' flow would continue at the same rate until the Tihar festival, which is three weeks away.
"There are a total of 150 hotels in operation from Lete area to upper Lomanthang. they are all full," Tulachan said, and exclaimed, "We are doing some good business."
