Home Minister Sudan Gurung is scheduled to visit Sunsari on Thursday following the recent violence in Dewanganj Rural Municipality that claimed two lives.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Gurung will travel to Kaptaan Ganj in Dewanganj-3 following a meeting Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

During the visit, the home minister is expected to meet the families of Om Prakash Mehta, who died following the July 26 clash, and Jay Prakash Mehta, who succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment on Thursday.

Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta, whose home district is Sunsari, will also accompany Gurung.

The visit comes as authorities continue efforts to restore normalcy in the area following the violence, which has prompted heightened security measures and an ongoing investigation into the incident.
