RAUTAHAT: Police confiscated 700 litres of illegal liquor from two buses apparently used to ferry Bolbum pilgrims in Rautahat district on Monday morning.

Police said they discovered 500 litres hooch being smuggled to the district headquarters on a reserved bus (Na 5 Kha 6263) at Sukadev Chok and 200 litres on another bus (Na 3 Kha 5539) during their regular security check.

The buses were heading to Gaur from Chandranigahapur.

According to Sudhir Raj Shahi, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rautahat, the hooch was loaded on the buses at Chandranigahapur.
