Janakpurdham, May 10:

Services in the hospitals and nursing homes here were halted today to protest the manhandling of a physician and arson at the Janakpur zonal hospital yesterday by a group of students.

The protesting health workers halted all services demanding security to them and stern action against the culprits. All services were halted in Janakpur zonal hospital while Out Patient Departments were closed in private nursing homes and clinics.

Yesterday, students had vandalised and set ablaze the counter of the Janakpur hospital alleging that one, Dipak Kumar Yadav, died due to negligence of the physician on duty.

An all-party meet at the hospital today urged the physicians to resume hospital services.
