House passes Bill related to election of President and Vice-President

KATHMANDU: The Legislature-Parliament has unanimously passed the 'Bill related to election of the President and the Vice-President-2017.

The Bill, which was not passed due to lack of quorum on October 6, has been passed today.

At the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Yagya Bahadur Thapa, on behalf of the Prime Minister, presented the 'Bill related to remuneration and facility of Pradesh Pramukh-2017'.

The meeting also unanimously endorsed the Women Commission Bill, 2017.

The bill was presented along with the annual report of the Women, Children, Elderly Citizen and Social Welfare Committee by Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Aasha Koirala.

Two annual reports from two separate committees including the Legislation Committee and the Social Justice and Human Rights Committee (SJHRC) were tabled at the meeting today.

The reports were presented by the Legislation Committee's Chair Ganga Chaudhary Satgauwa and the SJHRC's Chair Sushil Kumar Shrestha. The parliament will meet next on October 10.
