KATHMANDU: A fire broke out and reduced at least six houses to cinders in Pauwatol of Prakashpur, Baraha Municipality-5 of Sunsari district in eastern Nepal on Sunday.

No human casualty has been reported yet.

The fire broke out from Sitaraj Chandrabanshi's house at around 5 pm and spread to the neighbourhood, to Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandra Kuver Adhikari at the District Police Office, Sunsari, told THT Online over phone.

With the help of locals, fire brigade and security personnel are trying to contain the inferno, he informed.

The loss of property is yet to be estimated.
