KANCHANPUR: Police confiscated a huge cache of firecrackers from Mahendranagar Bazaar in Bhimdattanagar–4 of Kanchanpur on Sunday evening.

The police were searching for firecrackers being smuggled across the border from India when they came across two sacks of abandoned firecrackers of various sizes and shapes, informed DSP Nain Singh Karki of the Kanchanpur District Police Office (DPO).

The smugglers had fled the scene instantly when the police arrived.
