HETAUDA: District Education Office Makawanpur has allocated a budget of Rs 250.6 million aiming to bring reforms in the education sector for this academic session. According to the office, the budget will be spent in nine different areas, including programmes related to capital expense, early child development programme, open school, inclusive education programme, religious school programme and extension of physical infrastructure, among others. The office has allocated more than Rs 30 million for the reconstruction of schools that were damaged by the April 25 earthquake. Likewise, one lakh rupees each will be granted to as many as 140 schools aiming to extend their physical infrastructure, whereas 55 other schools will be provided with Rs 2.5 lakh each. Of the budget, Rs 25 million will be spent on salaries of facilitators of early childhood learning as well as teaching materials. Recently transferred District Education Officer Ambika Acharya appealed for every one’s support in the development of the entire education sector.
