Humla floods affect life in villages

HUMLA: Two VDCs in Humla district, south of Simikot, the district headquarters, have been affected by flood as triggered by the incessant rainfall.

A total of 35 households in wards 7 and 8 have been affected by the flood in the Kalika VDC.

Food crops in 50 ropanis of land and irrigation equipment were also destroyed by the flood in the area.

Seven wooden bridges were swept away, obstructing the movement of people from one village to the other.

Similarly, a shed and a house were destroyed in the flood in a settlement in Maila VDC.

Meanwhile, farmers of the Lamahi village have asked for compensation as the flood destroyed their houses.
