KATHMANDU: A 42-year-old man has allegedly stabbed his wife to death in Phalgunanda Rural Municipality-4 in Panchthar district on Thursday morning.

Passers-by had informed police of the body of a woman they came across this morning.

Panchthar District Police Office identified the deceased as Yashodha Chemjong and the suspect as her husband Netra Chemjong, a local resident.

According to Police, Chemjong attacked his wife with a Khukuri and a stick, fatally injuring her while they were returning home from Ranke Bazaar at Ligimba of the RM today.

Police presumed that some dispute might be the cause of the brutal murder. However, it is yet to determine the cause, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Nakul Pokharel at the DPO said.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased is being sent to the Panchthar District Hospital for an autopsy while the investigation is underway, said police.
