LAMJUNG: The 50-MW Upper Marsyandgi ‘A’ Hydropower Project has distributed drinking water to 39 households of Tarangche village of Bhulbhule VDC-5 in Lamgunj district.

The taps were distributed with the slogan “one tap for one household” under the Chharchhimeki (neighbours) programme of the Project.

Earlier, after the April 25 earthquake, the villagers had accused the hydel project of making the Tinkhole water source dry. After that, they had also staged sit-ins.

Consequently, the Project installed water taps, according to locals.

Earlier, the villagers were compelled to drink the muddy water of Ghattekhola.
