DADELDHURA: Arjun Chand, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dadeldhura, today claimed that he did not have any connection with Jamim Shah's murder.

Chand, who arrived here from Kathmandu today, told The Himalayan Times that he did not know who Jamim Shah was before the latter's murder. "But I was in contact with Babbu," he added. He was referring to the prime suspect in the murder case Deepak Shahi who is also known as Babbu.

Chand also claimed that he came to know through the media that Babbu was also known as Deepak Shahi.

He said he had given his statement in the Hanumandhoka Police Office after his name was dragged into Jamim Shah's murder case.

"I came to know Babbu while I was inspector in-charge in Linkgate Police Post, Kapilvastu," he said.

Claiming himself to be an "honest, genuine and hardworking" person, he said that his name was dragged into the murder case simply because he knew Babbu.
