I became PM to work for country not for fame: PM Oli
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday made it clear that he became the PM to work for country, but not to earn fame.
Unveiling a statue on the occasion of the 16th National Icon and Falgunanda's birth anniversary in Panchthar, PM Oli said he had viewed the Indian blockade as an opportunity to be used in resolving the problems at the earliest.
The country would rid of power outage within a year, PM Oli said, "Next year Nepal's Deepawali will not have to be celebrated in darkness."
PM Oli further pledged to upgrade the Budhabare road of Ranke area in the district and Damak-Chisapani-Rabi road section to fast track while adding that he would make utmost efforts in the development of energy and tourism.
He also declared of announcing public holiday on the birth anniversary of national icon Falgunanda from the next year.
On the occasion, former House Speaker and UML leader Subash Chandra Nembang said the constitution encompassed the aspirations of the people from mountainous, hilly and the Tarai-Madhes regions while expressing belief that the country would now move towards prosperity and development.
The programme was also attended by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Agni Kharel, and Nepali Congress leader Bhisma Raj Angdembe among others.
