KATHMANDU: The ongoing preparations for the organisation of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Nepal have been stalled for now.

According to CEO of Nepal Tourism Board Deepak Raj Joshi, the preparations that had begun to organise the award ceremony has now stopped.

The Parliamentary International Relations Committee, on July 2, had directed the government to immediately halt all works related to organising the 20th IIFA Awards here.

Moreover, the government's decision to organise the Indian award ceremony in the country using funds from the national treasury received criticisims from all quarters, also leading to some protests.
