Rautahat police seized illegal goods worth Rs 25 million from border areas in Rautahat district last fiscal and handed them over to the customs office.

SP Yagyabinod Pokhrel, presenting the fiscal report of 2016-17 at District Police Office, Rautahat, today said

police had seized stolen vehicles, gold and silver jewellery, among other things, worth Rs 25.72 million. There were 29 stolen jeeps and 82 motorcycles.

Similarly, police destroyed as many as 92 pubs and arrested 50 persons in possession of illegal drugs in the last fiscal.

SP Pokhrel said of the 50 arrested, 40 were sent to custody for further investigation, five were released after serving their sentence and five were sent to rehab centre.
