TIKAPUR: Police forcefully pulled down about two hundred huts built illegally in the premises of Nepal Food Corporation in Tikapur on Sunday.

According to Area Police Office, they pulled down the huts built by flood victims of Narayanpur and Dhansingpur VDC of Kailali district. Sudam Rawal, in charge APO, Tikapur, informed that they had cleared the huts under the direction of the District Administration Office.Earlier the police had urged the squatters to vacate the place.

However, the victims lamented that the police used unnecessary force while chasing them away. Victim Bishnu Pandey said, "We had only set up the huts temporarily to put pressure on authorities for our permanent settlement.''
