Bhaktapur, August 29 :

The first phase of the immunization campaign scheduled to be held on September 2 and 3 under the National Polio Immunization Campaign-2006 has been postponed due to floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in the mid-west and terai region, the continuing strike by health workers and the ongoing agitation by the municipality employees around the country, said Chief of the Child Health Division at the Health Ministry, Dr Shyam Raj Upreti.

Under the programme, polio drops were to be administered to children below five years of age across the country.
