KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal briefed the central office of his party CPN Maoist Centre about the impeachment motion moved against Chief Justice Sushila Karki.

He told the party headquarters that the measure was taken up after the judiciary interfered with the jurisdiction of executive.

The meeting concluded that the impeachment motion would increase the judiciary's dignity and would not

affect the scheduled elections.

The meeting will resume in the evening to discuss the latest political developments, elections, and Constitution Amendment Bill, Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported, quoting Maoist spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.

After the meeting of Maoist headquarters, Prime Minister Dahal went to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli at Speaker Onsari Gharti's office in Singhadarbar.

Earlier he had briefed President Bidya Devi Bhandari about the impeachment motion against Karki.
