KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 9

Senior Captain of Nepal Airlines Corporation Vijay Lama has been barred from flying after he gave an in-flight video interview from the cockpit.

The NAC, as per the direction from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, has suspended Captain Lama for breaching the Flight Operations Requirements, said Jagannath Niroula, spokesperson for CAAN.

"We have received a complaint from NAC that Captain Lama let unauthorised people inside the cockpit for video interview during a flight without acquiring permission from the director general of CAAN, which is against the provisions mentioned in the Flight Operations Requirements," Niroula told The Himalayan Times.

Niroula said CAAN had initiated an investigation against Captain Lama and he would have to face the music based on the findings. "He will be grounded until the investigation is over," he added. Recently, a vlog by aviation vlogger Sam Chui was uploaded online, in which he had conducted an interview of Captain Lama inside the cockpit during a Dubai-Kathmandu flight.
