KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 28

Two people were killed in a landslide at Tahakhel in Lalitpur district.

According to Shekhar Neupane, Chairperson of Godawari Municipality-10, a 50-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl lost their lives in the incident.

Similarly, a man and his daughter died after being buried under a landslide in Taukhel, Godawari Municipality-3, said Sanu Raja Ghimire, Chairperson of Godawari-3. Ghimire also reported that a house near Godawari Kunda is at high risk of a landslide.

"Three houses, the Baitarnidham temple, and a police post were washed away by flooding in Mahankal Rural Municipality-3. Five people are missing and out of contact," said Manoj Parajuli, Chairperson of Mahankal-3.

Additionally, 16 cattle were swept away when floods destroyed a hut in Ashrang, Bagmati Rural Municipality-6.

Uddhav Mahat, Chief of the Bhattedanda Police Post in Bagmati Rural Municipality-3, reported that Kanti Highway has been completely blocked.

"The flood has damaged the Bagmati Bridge, inundated the Khanikhola Hydropower Project, and put the Ward Office of Bagmati-3 at risk. A house belonging to Ran Bahadur Darlami in Ward No. 5 was also washed away by a rivulet," he said.
