India grants Rs 13.61m
Kathmandu, April 7:
The Embassy of India and the Institute of Forestry (IoF), Pokhara, have signed a memorandum of understanding in which the former has agreed to provide the latter with a grant of Rs 13.61 million.
A statement issued by the Indian Embassy here has said the assistance would be used for the procurement of books for the IoF Museum and Library-cum-Documentation Centre at Hetauda. The IoF, with campuses in Pokhara and Hetauda, was established in 1947.
“Procurement of about 10,000 books by the centre would further enrich the academic and research value of the campus which is presently providing graduate, post graduate and PhD degrees in forestry,” the statement adds.
The assistance is another manifestation of India’s commitment to establish and strengthen centres of excellence in Nepal and to contribute to Nepal’s human resource needs in specialised areas, the statement adds.
