India to help build bridge

Jhapa, March 1:

Indian ambassador to Nepal, Shiv Shanker Mukherjee, today, said he had received a proposal by the Nepali government for the construction of a bridge over Mechi River.

He said: “For construction of the bridge around IRs 210 million will be invested and I will request the Indian government for its implementation in the next fiscal year.”

He said this while talking to the members of Indo-Nepal Friendship Union and political activists of Kisangunj, India, yesterday after the inspection of the site.

Mukherjee said: “I am positive over construction of a bridge over the Mechi river.”
