Indian aid will continue: Envoy

Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee today said India was always ready to support Nepal for ensuring its democratic future.

Inaugurating a library building of Trijuga Janata Multiple Campus in Gaighat, which was constructed with an Indian assistance of Rs 11.2 million, envoy Mukherjee said India will continue its assistance in education, health and physical development sectors. He said 138 projects with Indian support are being run in 61 districts at present.

Also speaking at the programme, former vice chairman of National Planning Commission and NC-D leader Dr Narayan Khadka said Indian assistance plays an important role in Nepal’s development in health and education sectors. Counselor at the Indian Embassy Dr Kheya Bhattacharya said India-supported programmes will also be launched in rural areas of Udaypur.
